Thoughts

Hello!

Hi everyone! Welcome to Third World Book Nerd! My name is Krisha and I am from Cebu, Philippines. I’m a content and feature writer for a couple of websites all over the internets (including my own).

I literally grew up with books. When I was 7 I attempted to write a very detailed synopsis of Johnny Bravo. By the time I turned nine, I’ve memorized my Frog Prince picture book front and back and was making my way through Black Beauty, Treasure Island, and Little Women. I was ten when I met Harry Potter for the first time. I met him inside my fourth-grade classroom and never looked back since. By the time I finished high school, I had 5 library cards and was BFFs with our librarian (and convinced her to buy the books I liked.I picked Orange Girl by Jostein Gaarder, you’re welcome).

So yeah, I’m a nerd.

I ventured into selling books, too. Second-hand books mostly from the fantasy, YA and contemporary genres, with a smattering of classics. I carefully curated each and everyone titleΒ and sold them to people who can’t afford brand new books. Seeing happy customers always made me smile. Sadly, I didn’t have time to manage the shop so I’m channeling my love for books through this blog instead. And here we are! πŸ™‚

I hope you’ll enjoy your stay here. We’re filling this blog up with

  • helpful book reviews
  • book boyfriends!
  • tips on where and how to snag cheap books
  • the dilemmas (and joys!) of a third world book nerd
  • and hopefully, GIVEAWAYS!

So watch this space! This is gonna be so much fun. I’m excited to share my love for books here with you.

Thanks for checking out our humble little blog.

I hope you enjoy your stay! πŸ™‚
