Oooh, A Mystery Blogger Award!

What’s up nerds! I’m so glad to have been nominated for the Mystery Blogger Award by Rose. Thank you! Also a big shout out to Okoto, who created this award. Thank you guys for bringing bloggers together! πŸ™‚

Work (and other commitments) have been hella swamping me lately, so any reason to sit down and spend more time on the blog is welcome. And 18 followers? Wow. I never even expected to have 5. Thanks everyone who follow the blog! I hope I can really find the time to get to know more about the book blog community here at WordPress. Β So anyway, here are the rules:

Put the award logo/image on your blog.
List the rules.
Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well.
Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
You have to nominate 10 – 20 people.
Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog.
Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice; with one weird or funny question (specify).
Share a link to your best post(s).

Okay, now that we got that out of the way, here’s three things about myself.

  1. I’m from Cebu, Philippines. I think it’s one of the most beautiful islands in the world— it’s got white sand beaches, insane marine life and waterfalls and mountains and more beaches. My friends and I love traveling around the country whenever we can (which is once a year lol)
  2. I used to run a Β secondhand book store full of YA goodness. I had to do an indefinite break because of other #adulting commitments. But maybe we can reopen with more merch soon!
  3. I have a black, shaggy dog called Sirius. No, he is not an Animagus. πŸ™‚

And now for the questions from Tea With Roses Tomes:

What is your favorite trilogy of all time?

Wow, this is pretty tough. If I had to choose, I’d say it would be A Court of Thorns and Roses (it’s technically still a trilogy, right?). I really enjoyed the adventures, my Illyrian babies, Rhys, the whole gang, the monsters, Rhys, the unexpected twist, Rhys…everything.

What is your most loved trope and most hated?

I love any slow burn trope. The slower the burn, the better. All that tension building just makes the conclusion better. On the flipside, I really don’t like Insta-love tropes. Can you even call it a trope? It’s more of a cliche, no? Anyway, Insta-love is just so unrealistic, it makes my eyes roll everytime.

Favorite book boyfriend/girlfriend?

Do you want me to choose? It’s a tough fight between Rhysand from ACOTAR (hey, I even made a post about his book boyfriend qualities here!) or Nikolai Lantsov from The Grisha Trilogy. Coming to think of it, they’re not very different: both are witty and handsome and slightly dangerous. Charming as all hell. And they both have the funniest lines. Sigh. I love them both to bits.

What is your favorite beverage?

Some people may find it weird or gross (hello, boyfriend) but I really do love this Matcha Red Bean Milk Tea from Dakasi. I love how the sweet red beans contrast with the matcha. It’s soooo good. I love any good matcha, but this one is my favorite. Starbucks’ matcha frappe has been my go-to stress-reliever for a long time now, too.

If you were immortal for a day, what would you do?

Immortal…but only for a day? Hmmm. That’s a tough question. How can you take advantage of it…if it’s only for a day? Haha. Well. I’d probably do something really stupid like eat all the Cajun shrimps I can possibly stuff in my belly or do something heroic like put out fires and round up bad guys. Or I’d probably go sky diving sans parachute just for fun. πŸ˜€

Now I nominate the following:

(Gah, I don’t know a lot of people yet here, so let me scour my feeds for a bit…)

Here are my questions for you!

Which place— whether fictional or real— do you really want to visit?

What’s your idea of a perfect day?

You have been punished to eat just one kind of dessert for the rest of your life. Which dessert would you pick?

What’s the one book that everybody liked but you didn’t?

Do you believe in aliens?

  1. Girl, by your description of your hometown I want to visit it, sounds soooo beautiful!
You know your gonna have to take some pictures of your fur baby! (:

Also, I LOVE the Court of Thorns and Roses! β™‘ Like Rhys..yasss!

Totally agree on your tropes. I devour a slow burn in a book, it’s just more realistic and more of a satisfying read. While instalove makes me cringe because I would personally freak out if someone met me within three days& they say they are madly in love lol

I love both the book boyfriends you choose, they are very similar but still different where I love them basically equally! Like I love how Nikolai is like a clever fox and knows how to be a pirate and all the sexy things! (: && Rhys is my beautiful bat baby who deserves everything (:

I have never tried your favorite drink. However, I love matcha tea, so I’ll definitely give it a try (:

Love all of your answers, & look forward to reading more with your lovely blog & you! (:
