My August-September Book Haul!

October 15, 2017Krisha

Hey guys!

The past few months flew by in a whirlwind of events and hectic work schedules. But I’m still so happy that I had a pretty decent haul for August and September. I’m looking forward to the next couple of months— there are awesome new releases from Leigh Bardugo and Maggie Stiefvater and  I can’t wait to get my hands on them! In the meantime, here are my hauls for August and September:

China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan

Enjoyed Crazy Rich Asians? Well, you haven’t seen anything yet. China Rich Girlfriend finds Rachel Chu and her new husband Nick caught up in the glitz and the glamour of Hong Kong. Astrid is still beautiful as ever, and her husband is even more toxic and I want to slap him across the face TBH. The various aunties, in-laws, grandparents and newly-found parents are richer and crazier in this sequel. If you enjoyed book one, you’ll def have a laugh with this.

Monsters of Verity Duology by VE Schwab

I raved about this duology for a whole month straight! I loved these so much, I made a review for This Savage Song and Our Dark Duet. I’m not the biggest fan of really dark and gory novels, but this duology was so beautifully written, I had to pick them up. I can’t say that the ending made me happy (for I am stupid and disillusioned and I need happy endings lol), but I guess it was the best conclusion to these novels.

Also, how can you not love these covers? Seriously?

The Last Boy and Girl In The World by Siobhan Vivian

Book signing!

I couldn’t go to Siobhan Vivian’s book signing without a copy of her book, can I? The Last Boy and Girl in the World is my first Siobhan Vivian novel. As of this writing, I’m halfway through it and it’s pretty unique. Clue: involves flooding, conspiracies, and beautiful boys with funny social media content. How very millennial, right? Despite this, I found the book…fairly okay thus far. The writing’s great and quirky, but I think I’ve quite outgrown my love for teenage highschool novels. But like I said, I’m still halfway through so let’s see where this takes us. 🙂

Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han

Surprise from LA! My cousin Iara brought me a signed, hardbound copy of Always and Forever. Awww! It’s my favorite from this haul. I have another signed, paperback copy of this book but I’m quite partial to this one. Iara and me are like the Song girls, you know? 🙂

Looking forward to more books for October! 🙂
