When I first heard that a concept store dedicated to handmade goodies and crafts was opening just a few doors away from my workplace in Cebu, I was beside myself with joy.
Imagine: art prints, stickers, journals, artisanal chocolate, jewelry and all manner of cool, handmade things— all found in one place?
It was a nerd’s paradise.
The top of Maslow’s sweet little pyramid— stationery version.
My friends and I all waited with bated breath for the shop to open its doors, and when Craft Story finally did back in November 2018, we were not disappointed.
The store, located at Crossroads in Banilad, is the perfect place to let your inner geek loose. Craft Story is like Cebu’s very own Diagon Alley, but cozier, more organized, and filled to the brim with handmade goodies from Cebuano artists like Happy Garaje, Peregrina, Thingamabobs, Papers and Tschai, and more.
Each shelf is occupied by a different artist, and with 45 of them to choose from, you will definitely not run out of cute, memorable things to tickle your fancy.
I especially like how the owners themselves curate aspiring consignees and crafters. This means that no two brands offer the same exact product, which is great because it makes for a wider variety of goodies. If you wish to be a partner crafter, just DM our friends at Craft Story and they’d be more than happy to assist you!
Speaking of goodies, here are a few of my favorite things from Craft Story:
Prints, Postcards, And All Manner of Art from Happy Garaje
It was love at first sight for Happy Garaje and me. Their work, which can come in the form of prints, sculptures, toys, and hand-painted clocks, is distinctly dreamy and I’m here for it. And hey, it doesn’t hurt that they also did the branding for Cebu’s beloved Abaca Group, right?
Watercolor Goodies from Peregrina
I’ve been following Peregrina’s watercolor journey for some time now. I’m a huge fan of their seascapes and tree house series, so whenever I see them in bazaars and cons, I always make it a point to get a bookmark or an art print. I was super happy to find that they have a section to themselves at Craft Story. Just check out that art-print-turned-pendant. Fitting for an island girl, right?
Journal Starter Kit From Crafted Trails
Journaling has been keeping me sane for years, especially now that I work in digital marketing and have to be in front of the computer all the time. I wrote more about how journaling helps one love themselves in length here.
Journaling is just a great way to help me gather my thoughts, take things slow and appreciate memories— and I’m sure it would help you, too, if you gave it a try.
If you don’t want to commit to a full-blown journal yet, you can start off with this journal starter kit from Crafted Trails. They have a travel-sized craft journal (blank pages, baby!!!), washi tape and more. It’s the perfect way to get into the journaling groove!
Temporary Tatts From Random Club PH
Remember the temporary tattoos of your childhood? Well, they just got an upgrade.
Random Club PH’s temporary tattoo designs are modern and fun. I especially love their minimalist tatts. Plus, they stay for a long time, too!
